COMMUNITY SECTOR COVID-19 RESPONSE RAPID MAPPING PROJECT
An overview of recent and planned work

Data Dashboard

The Community Sector COVID-19 Response Rapid Mapping Project resulted from NTCOSS member requests to identify the capability and capacity of the sector to respond to immediate and future needs of Territorians experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage. As services and workforces are disrupted and the demand on services changed rapidly, NTCOSS worked with NOUS Group to coordinate the collection of critical information from community not-for-profit organisations to assist with ongoing coordination and planning.

Over one hundred organisations provided data to NTCOSS through a survey. This work was completed and information is summarised in an online dashboard, identifying resource capacity across the sector, showing a high level, Territory-wide view, including:

  • a comparison of FTE capacity against pre-COVID-19 levels, by region and service type
  • information on buildings and vehicles which could be made available to assist other organisations
  • summaries of how services have been impacted by COVID-19 and the role technology is playing in adaptation

De-identified aggregate information has been shared with the Northern Territory Government Welfare Emergency Management Group. All individual data is confidential. This is the first iteration of data collection and mapping, it provides a snapshot of the sector’s current capacity and how it has been affected by COVID-19.

NTCOSS and the project steering group are now planning further work to support the sector to share information and resources at a more detailed level. This will help understand what capacity and capability (FTE and resources) we have across the sector, so we can plan effectively should the impact of COVID-19 be felt for longer.
