As disasters increase, so does the need for evacuation centres that are safe, inclusive and responsive. This workshop supports participants to better understand risk
and apply gender-informed, intersectional approaches to improve outcomes for all community members.

• Recognise how gender and intersecting factors shape safety, access and risk in emergency evacuation centres.
• Identify situations where emergency evacuation centres environments, processes or behaviours may unintentionally increase harm.
• Strengthen practitioner awareness of gender safety, accessibility, cultural responsiveness and inclusion.
• Apply a gender and intersection‑informed lens to everyday decision‑making in emergency evacuation centres planning and operations.
