Learn practical skills to support someone in distress.

This workshop is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to support someone who may be experiencing distress or suicidal thoughts.

Early effective support can make a real difference and save lives. These conversations offer support and a safe space for open discussions while encouraging help seeking.

You’ll learn:

  • How to use safe, supportive language
  • How to ask about suicide
  • Active listening strategies
  • Safety planning and self‑care
  • Risk and protective factors
  • How to connect someone with support services.

Ensuring participant safety

Delivered by accredited facilitators, the training is based on current research and aligns with Mindframe guidelines for safe communication. Wesley LifeForce Community Suicide Prevention Training is accredited with Quality Innovation Performance Limited (QIP), assessed against the Suicide Prevention Australia Standards.
