Identifying & Responding to DFSV in Central Australia – Fundamentals

Essential training for frontline workers in Central Australia to identify and respond to DFSV using practical, trauma-informed approaches.

This essential training equips frontline workers in Central Australia with the knowledge and skills toidentify and respond to clients or patients at risk ofdomestic, family, and sexual violence, particularly within health settings.

Over a full day, participants will explore foundational concepts, develop practical skills, and connect with local DFSV services. This subsidised training ensures participants leave equipped to provide integrated, trauma-informed support to clients and patients at risk. This training is a recognised pre-requisite course for participation in NT RAMF Training.

Key Learning Outcomes

  • Deepen understanding of the nature and dynamics of family violence in the Central Australia/Barkly region.
  • Understanding the role of universal services such as health, education and social services in identifying and responding to DFSV
  • Gain insight into approaches to support safe and trauma-informed disclosures
  • Learn how to deliver trauma-informed support tailored to client needs and circumstances.
  • Develop confidence in safety planning and accessing referral pathways.
  • Gain practical insights into legal responses, including mandatory reporting obligations.
  • Build connections with local services and specialists to enhance crisis management and prevention.

Running Time: 8.30 am – 4.30 pm.

Cost: $55 + booking fee
