Safe and Meaningful Youth Engagement Across All Ages and Stages

We recognise the importance of embedding children and young people’s voices in our work, but many organisations are unsure how to do this in ways that are safe, meaningful and appropriate for different ages and stages of development.

This webinar explores what genuine participation looks like across childhood, from the early years through to youth leadership. It will examine how children’s insights evolve over time and why one size fits all approaches often fall short. Drawing on research, practice and lived experience, the session will highlight what distinguishes authentic engagement from tokenistic approaches, and how to create environments where children and young people can contribute with confidence.

Through practical examples across education, community and policy settings, the session will consider how organisations can move beyond consultation towards shared decision making. It will focus on how to support children and young people to actively shape the decisions that affect them, and how this leads to safer, more responsive systems and communities.
