Children & Young People
Every child and young person deserves to grow up safe, healthy, and connected to family, culture and community.
Every child and young person deserves to grow up safe, healthy, and connected to family, culture and community.
The NT has one of the youngest populations in the country, and one-third of people under 24 identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
Young people in the NT face some of the most significant barriers in the country — including higher rates of disengagement from education and training, youth incarceration, suicide, and early school leaving.
These challenges are not inevitable. The community sector plays a vital role in supporting children and young people to thrive. With the right support, young people can build strong futures, contribute to their communities, and break cycles of disadvantage. Investing early in children and young people helps create opportunity, belonging, and hope

Youth Voice NT
NTCOSS has been funded by the Northern Territory Government for five years to deliver a Youth Advocacy program across the Northern Territory (Youth Voice NT).
This project aims to raise the voices of young people in the Territory who might not have had the opportunity to have their say and improve engagement with Government in the development of future polices and strategies that directly affect them.
