About the Position

meNTor is a bespoke educational educational support service designed in the NT to meet the needs of young people currently in the Out of Home Care System as a result of an experience of trauma, adversity and the involvement of Territory Families.  meNTor is a 2-year pilot managed by Anglicare NT implemented in partnership with young people, carers, Department of Education and Territory Families. The program will support young people within Out of Home Care to participate in education that enables them to reach their full potential and maximise their life opportunities.

In the role of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Mentor you will be responsible for improving the education participation and achievement of young people in Out of Home Care. This will be achieved by being a positive role model for young people to engage in mentoring sessions that provide skills that are transferable to the young person’s educational goals.

This position is an identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander role in line with Anglicare NT Strategic Plan 2019 – 2022, Reconciliation Action Plan and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Recruitment Strategy.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess an Ochre Card (Working with Children Clearance), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current Northern Territory manual driver’s licence.
