NTCOSS Member Pre-Budget Consultation – Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence
Monday 23 November @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pmFree
NTCOSS is undertaking Pre-Budget Submission consultations for the May 2021 Budget. There are high levels of disadvantage in the NT, with many people severely impacted by systemic inequities and poverty and we have a role to advocate for change.
With the newly re-elected parliament and the current focus on economic recovery in the NT, this is a key opportunity to inform Government about the priorities for the community service sector, and advocate for measures that are consistent with a fair future for the NT.
NTCOSS wants to hear from our members on key areas where the NT Government should direct its funding for the 2021 – 2022 Budget. This will also provide an opportunity to inform NTCOSS in its advocacy work.
After these consultations NTCOSS will develop a set of strategic recommendations to support better outcomes for people experiencing disadvantage, and to work towards addressing inequity.
The NT Government will be releasing an interim Budget on November 10. Following this, NTCOSS will send a summary of the Budget and its implications for the Community Sector to our members, which will inform our pre-May Budget discussion. Deborah Di Natale will then facilitate consultations with members across NTCOSS’ key policy areas – Aboriginal justice; domestic, family and sexual violence; children and young people; climate justice and cost of living.
