What is the Keeping Women Safe in Their Home program?

Keeping Women Safe in Their Home is a program designed to undertake risk assessment, safety planning and security upgrades for women and children experiencing domestic and family violence so that they can stay in their own homes, or a home of their choice, where it is safe to do so. The program aims to achieve positive outcomes for families, women and their children to improve safety, well-being and reduce violence against women and their children.

What sort of services can we provide?

  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including the option for improved safety of their home as a response of domestic violence
  • Undertake safety planning, property audits and technology risk assessments as part of a comprehensive case management plan
  • Implement security upgrades in line with the risk assessment to secure the home
  • Provide information, support and referrals to relevant service providers
