Mission Australia Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Service (MARRTS) is a 40 bed residential rehabilitation facility for alcohol and other drugs. The facility is located on Tivendale Road in Berrimah NT and accepts referrals for men and women over 18 years. We work in partnership with the Northern Territory Government to provide support, treatment and care options to reduce the harm for clients and their families affected by alcohol and other drugs.

Our aim is to provide a residential setting free of alcohol and other drugs. The intensive client-centred inventions combined with therapeutic programs will facilitate change for individuals and ensure that change can be sustained after reintegration into their communities. Aftercare and outreach support is also provided for through Top End Health Services and St Vincent De Paul Aftercare Program.

The Sobering-Up Shelter Darwin provides adults with care, protection and a safe place to sleep 6 nights a week. They are referred to the shelter by the police, community patrol or community services after being found intoxicated in public spaces. For many clients, the Sobering Up Shelters provide an alternative for incarceration and pathways to engage in AOD and other health services to help reduce the harm for AOD misuse.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • 18 years of age or over
  • referred to the service by Police, Community Patrol Organisations, other referring agencies, responsible community member or self referral
