AADANT is the peak body for Alcohol and Other Drugs in the Northern Territory.

As an independent, membership-driven, not-for-profit association, we work with our members to support and strengthen AOD service delivery for people who experience harmful substance use in the NT.

Our mission is to build and maintain a strong, sustainable and culturally diverse Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) sector that works together to reduce alcohol and other drug related harm across the Northern Territory.

Aboriginal Peak Organisations Alliance

An alliance comprising the Central Land Council (CLC), Northern Land Council (NLC), and the Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance of the Northern Territory (AMSANT).

The alliance works towards providing an effective response to key issues affecting Aboriginal people in the Northern Territory;

  • advocates practical policy solutions to government;
  • increases Aboriginal involvement in policy development & implementation;
  • expands opportunities for community control; and
  • strengthens networks between Aboriginal organisations in the Northern Territory.

Peak body for playgroups throughout the Northern Territory which act as a voice and advocate for families, representing playgroups to government and the wider community.

The Playgroup Association NT (PANT) support all families in the NT to learn and grow through play, promoting fun and learning experiences for babies and children through community playgroups, whilst providing information and support networks for all families.

Peak Body

The peak body for Aboriginal community-controlled healthservices in the Northern Territory. AMSANT works with the Government and communities to provide effective Aboriginal medical services and lobbies Government for positive changes that help to improve the health of Aboriginal people. The service advocates for equality in health focusing on supporting the provision of high-quality comprehensive primary health-care services for Aboriginal communities. AMSANT also provides representation on committees, forums, conferences, meetings, inquiries, commissions and seminars relating to Aboriginal health.

The Northern Territory Mental Health Coalition (NTMHC) is the peak body for the community managed (NGO) mental health sector in the Northern Territory. The NTMHC has a network of around 200 individuals, organisations and stakeholders including a membership of about 35 organisations across the Northern Territory. The NT Mental Health Coalition is a full member of the Mental Health Australia (MHA) and a founding member of Community Mental Health Australia (CMHA). NTMHC engages and consults regularly with the NGO community mental health sector, its’ members and stakeholders through workshops, surveys, forums, one on one discussions, social media, events such as Mental Health Week promotion, phone and email contact.

Peak Housing & Homelessness Body

The peak non-government agency for housing and homelessness services in the Northern Territory. NT Shelter works to ensure appropriate and affordable housing is available for all Territorians, especially disadvantaged groups and those on low incomes. Services include advocacy on housing & homelessness policy, consultation, dissemination of information, liaison and project work.

Membership is available to non-government organisations providing affordable housing or homelessness services, and individuals with an interest in the issues of homelessness and affordable housing.

Foster and Kinship Carers Association NT is the peak body for foster and kinship carers providing support, advice and advocacy for carers across the Northern Territory.  Foster and Kinship Carers Association NT provides services that empower foster and kinship carers through knowledge, support and advocacy.

NTCOSS plays a coordination, advocacy, policy, sector support, leadership and information role for the Social and Community Sector in the NT.
